ACE's and ACL's Academic English programs prepare students for entry into University, TAFE, Business Colleges, Hotel & Management colleges and many other institutions.

These programs provide rigorous training in academic skills such as:

Academic Writing
Academic Listening and note-taking

In Brisbane and Perth, students study for the following course:

  Academic English 1

Entry level: ACE Intermediate Level/ACE entry test/ IELTS 5.0
Course length: 8 weeks
Max class size: 15 students

In Sydney, students can study at the following levels:

 Certificate III in EAP

Entry level: ACL Pre-Intermediate Level/ACL entry test/ IELTS 4.5
Course length: 10 weeks
Max class size: 18 students

 Certificate IV in EAP

Entry level: ACL Pre-Intermediate Level/ACL entry test/ IELTS 5.0
Course length: 10 weeks
Max class size: 18 students

 Diploma in EAP

Entry level: ACL Pre-Intermediate Level/ACL entry test/ IELTS 5.5
Course length: 10 weeks
Max class size: 18 students

ACE and ACL academic counsellors assist students with a choice of suitable universities and colleges.

Direct Entry English Programs

Both ACE and ACL have IELTS and TOEFL 'Exemption Agreements' with many key Australian universities and colleges. Taking Academic English at ACE, or EAP at ACL is an excellent - and cost effective - way of getting to university without needing to take the IELTS or TOEFL test. This is a fantastic opportunity for any students who are thinking about going to university or taking further studies in Australia.

I am studying in the Academic English course at ACE and will start university next year. This course is really interesting because I am improving my English and also learning study skills which will help me to be successful in my degree course.
